MachineLife provided a payload, production and structural health monitoring system for a BE 2570 dragline. This machine was experiencing severe cracking and resonance vibration in the boom and mast, and the customer needed detailed structural monitoring and operator feedback.
MachineLife installed the COMS (Continuous Online Monitoring System) hardware to monitor, log, and report data from the strain gauge units (SGU’s) on the draglines boom and mast.
The monitoring system provided live actionable operator feedback, and detailed reporting for supervisors.
- Production feedback including: Payload (tons & cubic yards), Fill Factor, Cycle count, Cycle time, Availability and Utilization.
- Structural feedback and operating exceedances including : ShockLoading, SideLoading, OverLoading, Fatigue Damage, & Harmonic Frequencies.
- Automated reports including the Production, Payload and Structural exceedances.
- Emailed to department managers and supervisors.
- Live PLC screen Operator Feedback of: Payload, Stresses, and Structural Exceedances
