A propel torque test was conducted on a Page dragline to determine the machine lifting forces, to be used in a component life analysis, during a walking cam redesign.
Live wireless torque measurements were taken on both main walking shafts to determine the maximum, minimum, and averge torque (total and per shaft) during each machine step.
The test results provided the critical torque input to project the fatigue life of the new walking cam, and determine if it was adequately designed to endure the actual machine lifting forces.
