In collaboration with the mine personel, OEM engineers, and field service contractors, a series of design upgrades were developed to increase the reliability and availability of the truck fleet.
A mine needed to extend the remaining useful life of their fleet of haul trucks. Some areas of the main structural frame had fatigued and were becoming weld repair and maintenance nightmares.
MachineLife analyzed a series of proposed design modifications. Using finite element analysis (FEA) of each individual design modification, prior to implementation, the cost benefit was quantified. This guaranteed the improvement of each design change and ensured they were practical and economical to implement, before work began.
